Madre’s Closet is a faith-based, family-run nonprofit dedicated to transforming grief into generosity and love into tangible hope. We partner with local schools, groups and organizations to meet specific needs, ensuring every child has the resources to thrive.

We partner with local schools, businesses, and organizations to meet students’ needs. Our ‘Grand Store’ at Stanley Terrace, allows families with vouchers to shop for free.

The Rose and The Butterfly
At Madre’s Closet, we transform grief into generosity by providing local students with essential uniforms, clothing, shoes, and small joys like toys. Born from profound loss, our faith-based nonprofit honors the memory of our beloved Marrina, whose passion for children continues through every child we help. When students have what they need, they gain confidence, focus better in class, and achieve more.

Why Are We Doing This?
We tragically lost our daughter and grandson to a violent crime. We want to honor their memory in a meaningful way. Marrina, a devoted mother, had an incredible passion for helping children—she had just begun her journey to become a teacher, driven by her love for kids. It was remarkable how children were naturally drawn to her wherever she went.
Our mission is to honor Marrina and her son by supporting as many children as possible through our program, ensuring their legacy lives on through the lives they continue to touch.

Helping Students Succeed, One Item at a Time
Every child deserves to walk into school feeling confident and ready to learn. When children have what they need,
they can focus on their education rather than what they lack. Please consider contributing any of the following items
that are in high demand at our partner schools:
School uniforms (all sizes, elementary through high school)
Toys and games for younger children
New socks and underwear
Gift cards for older students
Sneakers and closed-toe shoes
New clothing items (no used clothing, please)
